MEC Lehari led COSATMA meeting with leaner transport operators, SANSBOC



The department of Community Safety and Transport Management in preparation for schools’ reopening next week met with scholar transport operators, SANSBOC. The meeting held in Montshiwa, Mmabatho was to address several issues raised by the operators that include among others delayed payments for service provided.

The meeting was led by MEC Sello Lehari and South African National Small Bus Operators Council (SANSBOC) North West Provincial chairperson, Mr Final Kgodumo. The Administrator, Mr Mathabatha Mokonyama, Head of Department, Ms Botlhale Mofokeng and SANSBOC Provincial Secretary, Lesele Komane also attended the meeting.

Resolutions of the meeting are as follows;

Operators should visit department and iron out differences in time. Administrator and the HOD to implement the court judgment which set aside the previous tender and service providers be contract on month to month.

The Department and SANSBOC to meet monthly for the next three months to deal with outstanding issues. Individual service providers with issues that are not general to deal with those by engaging the department directly Learners will be ferried starting next week when schools reopening and there shall be no disruptions.
